Exodus 25:31שמות כ״ה:ל״א
You shall make a lampstand of pure gold; the lampstand shall be made of hammered work; its base and its shaft, its cups, calyxes, and petals shall be of one piece.

AND THOU SHALT MAKE A CANDLESTICK. I have seen copies of Scripture which the wise men of Tiberias have examined. Behold, I found the word te’aseh (be made) spelled with a yod. Fifteen of their wise men swore that they checked every word, vowel, full and deficient spelling, three times. I did not find this to be the case with the books of Scripture in Spain, France, and on the other side of the sea. Our sages said that the additional yod in te’aseh alludes to the ten candlesticks which Solomon would make. Let me generalize. If there is a yod in te’aseh, then te’aseh is irregular. The Midrash tells us that the menorah made itself. The meaning of this midrash is that all who saw the menorah marveled and asked, “How could a human being make it?” Look! Scripture states, and he made candlesticks and so he made the candlestick (Num. 8:4). Behold, Scripture writes, On a griddle it shall be made (te’aseh) with oil; when it is soaked, thou shalt bring it in (Lev. 6:14). Observe, the word miksheh (of beaten work) here has the same meaning as the word miksheh which is written in connection with the cherubim.
